Terms.
Last updated · 11 May 2026
These terms govern your use of prelight, a free utility operated by Greyframe. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. They are short on purpose — prelight is provided free of charge, and Greyframe's obligations should be read in that light.
The service
prelight watches public release sources for the software you opt into and notifies you when something new ships. The catalog of watchable software is curated by Greyframe; the timing and reliability of any given vendor source is best-effort.
Account
You're responsible for the credentials you use, the content of the organisation you create, and what your invited members do under it. Don't share your password, and let us know promptly if you think it's been compromised.
Acceptable use
- Don't try to break, probe, or overload the service.
- Don't use the service to harass, infringe, or otherwise harm third parties.
- Don't attempt to extract the underlying source data at a volume or rate that would put load on the vendors we watch on your behalf.
We may suspend or close accounts that violate the above. Where we can, we'll warn you first.
No charge, no warranty
prelight is provided free of charge. It comes as is, without warranty of any kind. Greyframe does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that release-notification timing will meet any particular SLA. You should not rely on prelight as the sole source of truth for safety-critical version decisions.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Greyframe is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid Greyframe in the last 12 months (which, for the free service, is zero) and (b) NOK 1,000.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from settings. We can suspend or terminate the service or any account at our discretion, with notice where practical. If Greyframe sunsets prelight altogether, we will provide at least 30 days' notice and a data export.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect; continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes are resolved by the courts of Trondheim, without prejudice to your mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
